Questions

What the law asks.

What is Legal Metrology stamping?
Under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, any weighing instrument used in trade must be verified and stamped by the state Legal Metrology department before use. Seignor presents your instruments, passes them before the officer and hands you the certified stamp.
How often must a weighing scale be re-verified?
Weighing instruments used in trade must be re-verified periodically — generally once a year in Maharashtra. We track your due dates and handle the renewal, so you never trade on a lapsed stamp.
Do you verify scales you didn't buy from Seignor?
Yes. We calibrate, service and present instruments from other makers as well as our own — the stamp is on the instrument, not the brand.
